The National Acting Diploma is a performance-based qualification that recognises the breadth of acting work taking place in schools. From school productions and house drama to showcases and GCSE performances, the diploma celebrates sustained commitment to drama.
With three progressive levels to achieve:
Treading the Boards, Performer, and Artist – the diploma rewards both individual growth and collaborative excellence.
Endorsed by the Ministry of School Arts, it transforms school drama into a nationally recognised achievement. Pupils are assessed through their school and a submitted recorded performance for external assessment by MoSA.
Three Levels of Achievement
Level 1: Treading the Boards
An introduction to sustained acting work. This level recognises pupils who have begun to take on meaningful roles in school performances and are developing their confidence and commitment to the craft.
Level 2: Performer
Awarded to students who demonstrate ongoing involvement in a range of acting opportunities. They take on more substantial roles, show reliability in rehearsal and performance, and actively contribute to school drama.
Level 3: Artist
Our highest honour. This level is for pupils who show exceptional dedication, take creative risks, and consistently deliver thoughtful, skilled performances. They are often seen as leaders in their school’s dramatic life.
